Learn English by using Pronouns, Lesson 4

Learn English by using Pronouns.

A pronoun is a word that takes the place of a noun.

Example:

It would not sound correct to say,Ryan went to Ryan's room.

So, we replace the name with a pronoun. Ryan went to his room.

Pronouns are divided by gender,by the speaker, the listener, objects, and by groups of people. There are male and female forms. We use male & female forms when referring to animals, as well.

Male-he, his, him

Female-she, her, hers

If you are the speaker, you say-I, me, my, mine

When talking to someone else, use the words you, your, yours

When referring to two or more people, you say-they, their, theirs, them, we, our, ours

(Use we/our/ours only if you are also talking about someone else & yourself.)

Objects-it, its
